The Wenatchee Valley boasts four distinct seasons, 300 sunshine-filled days a year, the Columbia River running through town and is located at the foot of the Cascade Mountains. It is a short drive from Seattle and Spokane and offers wine touring, antiquing, fruit stands, hiking, biking, river rafting, golfing, fishing, skiing, water sports, camping, rock climbing, performing arts and festivals. It is also home to a community college with Central Washington University and Washington State University offering upper-division programs at their centers located on the Wenatchee campus. Wenatchee Valley is known as the “apple capital of the world” but other types of fruits are grown locally as well, such as cherries, apricots, pears, and wine grapes. The Wenatchee Valley is the hub of business and population in North Central Washington, while still maintaining a hometown feel.
