Homchick, Smith & Associates, PLLC, is a full-service certified public accounting firm headquartered in Wenatchee, WA.  Our team of over 30 CPA’s, associates and support staff serve a diverse client base from throughout North Central Washington.  We were established in 1934, and today, over 80 years later, we continue the passion to provide our clients with the highest quality professional services available. An opening is available for a CPA/CPA Candidate to join our firm. Responsibilities include Tax Return Preparation, Compliance Work – Audit, Reviews and Compilations.

Full-time Staff Accountant with IT expertise

An opening is available for an experienced CPA (3+years) to join our firm. Responsibilities include performing audits, preparing audit, review and compilation financial statements, research and client communications in all areas accounting and auditing. Additional responsibilities include tax planning, research and client communications in all areas of tax services: individual, partnership, corporate, trusts and estates. Must also have IT expertise.

Qualifications

  • CPA with 3 — 5 years comprehensive audit and tax experience within a public accounting firm
  • Well-rounded knowledge of generally accepted auditing practices and general accounting principles
  • Highly motivated with strong communication skills
  • Ability to continue to further develop firm’s social media which includes Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn
  • Comfortable installing software and troubleshooting workstation hardware problems
  • Experience working in a virtual server environment

Full-time Bookkeeper

Responsibilities include supervising customers' A/P, A/R, P/R, general ledger, month-end closing, account reconciliation, payroll and sales tax filings. Required skills are advanced QuickBooks, employment and sales tax law knowledge, intermediate Microsoft skills in Excel and Word, ability to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers, excellent verbal and written skills.

Qualifications

  • 2 to 4 years of bookkeeping experience required
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Effective organization and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to research tax law and stay current with bookkeeping software and technology which includes Quickbooks and Sage
  • Be a team player through trust, integrity, honesty and sound ethical behavior/judgment
  • Professional attitude and good work ethic a must
